"Serving The LA and Palm Springs Area"

About Us:

Gay Senior Services is proudly gay owned and operated by Brad Weissberg and Christian Peitsman. After years of combined experience in both the care industry and several business ventures, this married couple decided to put their strengths together and start this business specifically for Gay Seniors. ‘We believe that the generation that has gone before us, that has achieved so much in the way of civil rights and liberties, deserves to be treated with nothing but respect and dignity!’

Serving Seniors with Pride

In a time where ageism and homophobia are still rampant, no group in our society is met with as much misunderstanding and discomfort as gay seniors. We are here to change that. Our care philosophy is centered on the Pride Model. As out gay people, we know the importance of pride and how valuable it is to be able to live unashamed and feel pride in one self. The ground breaking, first generation of out and proud gays and lesbians and trans-gendered people, is now reaching the point where they may need some support. We are here to provide that support in a caring, client centered manner that is focused on keeping our client independent and keep them feeling pride in every phase in life.

Our caregivers are carefully screened and are motivated to specifically work with the gay community. Not only do we put our prospective care workers through the usual background and reference checks but we also make sure they understand the unique obstacles facing being a gay senior in today’s world. And of course, everyone is bonded and insured. We will strive to find the perfect match between client and care giver so that you will never have to feel like you need to be anyone other than yourself.

We are not just here for the things you can’t do yourself anymore. We are also here to provide companionship. How would you like somebody to come by for a regular visit? Whether this is in your own home or in a care facility, we will find that special care giver to drop by and check in on you on a regular basis. Just to make sure you are OK and for that bit of social contact we all need. We also have a spiritual counselor on staff for inter faith, non-denominational pastoral care.

Our care givers are happy to go places with you. To help you carry your weekly groceries back up to your apartment, to go to a doctor’s visit with you or to go to social outings, or simply for a walk through the neighborhood. The care workers can provide transportation if needed.

We help you keep your independence by providing non-medical care and assistance with your daily routine. We can assist with cooking, light house- cleaning, bathing, dressing and grooming.

Especially in these vulnerable moments it is important to have someone there that you know you can trust! This can be for as little as a few hours a week to permanent live-in care.
